The Mad Mudder Build
We started with a stock 2016 Harley-Davidson® XL883 Sportster 883 Iron- and started to rip it apart.
|In the Right and Left pictures we pulled off the front & rear wheels, front & rear suspension, fenders, exhaust, fuel tank, seat, handle bars & controls. Took approx3 hrs. We made room to fit the front triple trees.|
|On the Left is the mock up of the front triple trees and the handle bar riser. On the Right there isn’t much left to the bike. The air cleaner is now removed as well as the full exhaust system.|
|On the Left Crew Chief Dale Boyer is installing the speedometer relocation bracket before moving on to the front end and handlebars. On the Right the fork tubes are back together and installed in the new trees.|
|On the Left and Right Dale is customizing the handlebars to accept internal wiring before getting ready to mount the handlebars to the bike and then add the controls.|
|On the left is a picture of the camshafts with the cover removed. We chopped the cam cover and eliminated the stock sprocket cover to give the bike a unique look. You can see the finished results in the final pictures. On the Right Brian is installing the footpegs after just finishing up the headlamp.|
|On the Left is a closeup of the headlamp and Brian is just about done with the foot controls. On the Right here is the bike with the new front fender fitted as well as the handlebars and hand controls finished.|
|On the Left the bike has front and rear fenders on it and we were just waiting on the wheels. On the Right you can see we added an oil cooler with a carbon fiber dipped cover.|
|On the Left we have Andy and Dale finishing the front wheel and front brake caliper install. On the Right we have a final shot of our powder-coated shock springs, exhaust end caps, and anodized gold chain.|
