Established in 1990 as an independently-run local H.O.G. Chapter, Berks County, PA H.O.G. is sponsored by Classic Harley-Davidson of Reading, and is made up of over 200 members. Our members are a very diverse group of people, from all age groups, and from virtually every walk of life including: business professionals, executives and owners, pilots, electricians, plumbers, heavy equipment operators, truck drivers, carpenters, bankers, fire fighters, school teachers, mechanics, phone company employees, managers, programmers, salespeople, financial counselors, retirees, students, administrative assistants, you name it.
What do we do?
Ride our Harley-Davidsons as frequently as possible. We ride spring, summer, fall and winter. We go on many organized rides planned throughout the year. We ride to the Chesapeake Bay for lunch, Ocean City, MD for Bike Week, Wildwood, NJ for the NJ State Rally, upstate NY, Wellsboro, State College, Delaware, and many other places. We have Polar Bear rides planned throughout the winter. When we’re not riding we get together for dinners or we take a trip somewhere. One year we chartered a bus to the Motorcycle Show in New York City. We typically plan at least one overnight ride per month during the summer so we can ride all day, enjoy the camraderie of friends that evening, and then take a liesurely ride home the following day. We also go on burger and ice cream runs during the summer. Every year groups go to Daytona, Sturgis, Laconia and Myrtle Beach.
Where do we meet?
We meet the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Gouglersville Fire Company in Reading, PA. Come to a meeting, see what’s going on, meet some great people and see if this looks like a good time to you. Upcoming rides and events are announced at the meetings and are published here on our website, and in our monthly newsletter. For most rides, we meet at Classic HD, and go from there.
