Classic Harley-Davidson has partnered with Reading & Berks County Pennsylvania’s Americana Region Visitors Bureau to help our community.

West Reading Borough Council, Berks County Community Foundation, and the United Way of Berks County have partnered to create the West Reading Disaster Recovery Fund. We trust these excellent organizations will ensure that the funds are managed well. 

The Berks County Community Foundation and the United Way of Berks County will help distribute the funds to organizations assisting families who lost loved ones in the explosion, those who are displaced or those who lost work due to the explosion. Any remaining funds will go to honor those who died.

One of Classic Harley-Davidson's former employees lost a loved one during this terrible tragedy. 

Based on the level of donations received, the fund will provide grants to organizations assisting community members in the following order of priority according to the United Way.

1.  Grants to organizations providing support to the families of individuals killed in the explosion for immediate financial losses.

2.  Grants to organizations providing support to individuals displaced from their homes as a result of the explosion.

3.  Grants to organizations providing support to individuals displaced from employment as a result of the explosion.

4.  Support to the Borough of West Reading for planning and/or implementation of historical commemoration of the explosion (including, but not limited to creation of a memorial to those lost).

We are incredibly proud of the West Reading Borough, the emergency personnel, the organizations providing various types of help, and our community for their response and support.
