LIVEWIRE – Long Way Up.

The Long Way Up series is now streaming on Apple TV+!

The first of three episodes of Long Way Up premiered globally on Apple TV+ Sept. 18, with new episodes rolling out weekly. Harley-Davidson is thrilled to be featured in the Long Way Up series with Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. This series presented us with the opportunity to push the boundaries of electric vehicle (EV) technology to the edges of the earth to showcase the Harley-Davidson® LiveWire® motorcycle’s capabilities and performance in the most extreme conditions.

“Harley-Davidson stands for the timeless pursuit of adventure,” said Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President and CEO, Harley-Davidson. “Long Way Up series is a premier showcase for both this mission and Harley-Davidson’s first electric motorcycle, LiveWire. The LiveWire is a shining example of how Harley-Davidson innovates to lead in the electrification of motorcycling in order to find freedom for the soul in new ways. It’s an experience that can only be truly understood after riding it.”

LiveWire Motorcycles Used in Long Way Up

The LiveWire motorcycles ridden in the new series were modified for the 13,000-mile off-road trek. Ridden by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, the modified LiveWire used production specification Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) hardware, chassis, and Revelation™ powertrain components. The motorcycles were modified with prototype brake rotors, wheels and tires from the upcoming Harley-Davidson Pan America™ adventure touring motorcycle, and custom windshield, rear shock and triple clamps made specifically for this project in order to traverse 13,000 miles of terrain and extreme off-road conditions.

Before delivery for the series, both modified LiveWire motorcycles were evaluated at Harley-Davidson’s Willie G. Davidson Product Development Center for initial testing and ridden under similar development validation conditions at Harley-Davidson’s Proving Grounds facility.
